Introduction

As horse owners, we are committed offer our horses the best quality of live possible. We want them to move with fluidity and ease. Yet, despite our best efforts, we frequently encounter challenges such as pain, injuries, lameness and stress-related behaviors. One often overlooked piece of this puzzle is energy regulation. Too often we mislabel horses as ‘’lazy’’, ‘’hot’’ or ‘’difficult’’ without recognizing the internal imbalances and/or our human influence driving these expressions. Horses are naturally designed for movement and efficiency. When they show extremes – either sluggishness or overexcitability – it is a signal of underlying dysregulation.
