Day 1 April 11 - Functional Health (with Emma Loftus & Thirza Hendriks)

Theory lecture:   

1. What is health?  

2. What is (movement) functionality?


1. Finding health in your own body

2. Assessing horses on systemic level


Theory lecture:

3.     Flow and ease of movement

4.     The influence of gliding  (its importance for health & fascia)


3. Finding flow in your own movement

4. Assessing and finding ease / flow of movement in the horse   

Day 2 April 12 - Functional Health (with Emma Loftus & Thirza Hendriks)   

Theory lecture:

1. Neuroscience: self-regulation, cognitive abilities (learning) and the ability to cope with stress

2.The influence of breath  


1. Finding breath in yourself

2. Breathwork for horses (new techniques)  



3. Learning touch & intention  

4. Simple techniques to improve functional health & flow of movement in yourself and your horse to optimize health, function & performance

After these days, there will be an additional functional training masterclass. Most horses participating in the functional health will also transfer to the functional training masterclass so as participant to the functional health course, you can extend and immerse yourself for an additional two days of functional training to track the progress of the horses: 

Day 3 April 13 - Functional Training Masterclass

Theory Lectures & Private Training Sessions

Theory lectures discusses relevant topics for students and their current training needs and can cover:

- Neurodynamics

- Biomechanical systems

- Exercise physiology

- Collection basics

- Long reigning basics

- Cross-over training

- Setting up a training schedule

Training sessions can be: Groudwork, In Hand Work, Long Reigning, Lungeing, Riding, Brainwork and Cross Over Training

Day 4 April 14 - Functional Training Masterclass
